معیاری زندگی کے لئے معیاری تعلیم شرط لازم ہے۔ یہ شرط فرد کے لیے بھی لازمی ہے اور سماج کے لئے بھی۔ تعلیم کا معیار تو نصا ب تعلیم سے متعین ہو تا ہے البتہ طلبہ کی ہمہ جہت شخصیت سازی میں بہت ہی ذمہ دارانہ (crucial) کردارایک اچھے معلم اور استاد کا ہو تا ہے۔ معلم کا کام محض طلباء کو چند حقائق سے آگاہ کردینا اور بعض معلومات منتقل کردینا نہیں ہے۔ اس کا فرض طلبہ کی شخصیت کی تعمیر کرنا، ان کی رنگارنگ صلاحیتوں کو پروان چڑھانا،ان کے اندر دانش و حکمت پیدا کرنا اورا نہیں سماج کا ایک متحرک اور مفید رکن بناناہے۔ اس ذمہ داری کی ادائیگی کے لئے ضروری ہے کہ معلم طلبہ اور سماجی تقاضوں کے درمیان ایک فکری اور نظریاتی پُل قائم کرے تاکہ بدلتی ہوئی دنیا میں طلباء ان صلاحیتوں سے لیس رہیں کہ جو ایک جدوجہد سے بھرپور زندگی کی ضامن ہوں۔
تبدیلی اس دور کی سب بڑی حقیقت ہے۔اس دور کی تبدیلیوں نے تعلیم اور نظام تعلیم پربھی بھرپور اثر ڈالا ہے۔موجودہ دور تغیر اور تبدیلی کے لحاظ سے انتہائی سریع اور تیز رفتار دورواقع ہوا ہے۔عالمگیریت (گلوبلائزیشن)نے خود کفالت کی فکر کو پچھاڑدیا ہے۔ بین ممالک کمپنیوں (MNC’s)نے پورے عالم کو ایک بازار میں تبدیل کردیا ہے۔تہذیب و ثقافت کے میدان میں اجتماعیت نے انفرادیت پر غلبہ حاصل کر لیا ہے۔آج انفرادی تشخص اور اجتماعی روش کے مابین توازن قایم کرنے کی ضرورت پہلے سے بہت زیادہ بڑھ گئی ہے۔علم میں فروغ کی رفتار اتنی شدید ہے کہ حصول علم کے طریقوں میں بنیادی تبدیلیوں کے بغیر علم،متعلم اور معلم کے درمیان ربط قایم رکھنا مشکل کام بن چکاہے۔آج کے زمانے میں علم حاصل کرنے سے کہیں زیادہ اکتساب کے طریقوں پر عبور حاصل کرنا ضروری ہو گیا ہے۔ علم اور عمل کے درمیان ہر خلیج کو پُر کرنا استاد کے بنیادی فرائض میں شامل ہو گیا ہے۔بدلتی دنیا میں قومی ورثہ اور اقدار کی حفاظت نئی تعلیمی ضرورت بن گئی ہے۔اس دور کے استاد کو نہ صرف کلاسیکی استاد کا کردار ادا کرنا ہے بلکہ بدلتے ہوئے سماجی تقاضوں کے پیش نظر جدت طرازی کے سلسلوں کوبھی اپنے لائحہ عمل میں شامل کرنا ہے۔
جمہوری مزاج کی تشکیل اور جمہوری طرز حیات کی تربیت کے لئے معلم کو مسلسل روبہ عمل رہنا جمہوری ملک کی ضرورت ہے۔تنقید و اختلاف کے باوجود ہم آہنگی اور ربط کا قیام معلم کے لئے دشوارکن ہونے کے باوجود وہ لازمی فریضہ ہے جس سے چشم پوشی تباہ کن ثابت ہو سکتی ہے۔ ہندوستانی معاشرہ میں تنوع اور اختلافات کی بہتات تو ہے مگررواداری کے عناصر بھی قابل قدر حد تک موجود ہیں۔ رواداری اور ہم آہنگی کے جذبات موجود ہونے کے باعث ہی ہندوستان کی شناخت تہذیبوں کے گلشن کے حوالے سے ہے۔ معلم کا فرض ہے کہ وہ طلباء کو اس خصوصیت سے آگاہ کرائے۔
تعلیم کے میدان میں بنیادی تبدیلیاں رونما ہونے کے باعث معلم کی ذمہ داریاں بھی وسیع اور عمیق تر ہوگئی ہیں۔ ابتدائی تعلیم کو لازمی قرار دینے کے نتیجہ میں سماج کے محروم طبقوں کے بچے بھی درسگاہوں تک پہونچنے لگے ہیں۔ نہ صرف یہ کہ طلبہ کی تعداد میں اضافہ ہوا ہے بلکہ بہت سے خاندانوں کی پہلی نسل تعلیم حاصل کرنے کے لئے سامنے آئی ہے۔ پہلی نسل کی دقتیں،ضرورتیں، مزاج، مسائل اور خواہشات مختلف ہیں۔ اس لیے یہ نسل اساتذہ کے لئے ایک چیلنج بن کر آئی سامنے آئی ہے۔افلاس اور غربت کے شکار طلبہ کے اس طبقے کو درس و تدریس میں متحرک بنانا ایک ایسا دشوارکن مسئلہ ہے جس کے لئے مختلف طریقہ تدریس کی ضرورت ہے۔ خود اساتذہ کی تربیت کی ضرورت ہے۔ مختلف ثقافتی اور معاشی پس منظر سے آنے والے ان بچوں کو دوسرے ماحول سے تعلق رکھنے والے بچوں کے ساتھ ہم آہنگ کرنا ایک بڑا کام ہے، جس کے لئے اساتذہ کی طرف سے نفسیاتی طریقہ تدریس اپنایا جانا لازمی ہے۔
علم کا دائرہ اور معلومات کے خزانے میں متواتر اضافے کے پیش نظر معلم کی ذمہ داری کی نوعیت میں تبدیلی پیدا ہوئی ہے۔ اب معلم محض معلومات فراہم کرنے کا وسیلہ نہیں ہے بلکہ طلبہ کو حصول علم کے نت نئے طریقوں سے واقف کرانا تاکہ طلبہ ا ز خود معلومات تک رسائی حاصل کرسکیں،معلم کے فرائض میں شامل ہوچکا ہے۔۔اس عہد کے معلم کو طلبہ کو یہ سکھانا ہے کہ کسی معاون اور مددگار کے بغیر ایک طالب علم معلومات کیسے حاصل کرتا ہے تاکہ اس حاصل کرنے کا دروازہ طالب علم کی تمام عمر کے لیے کھل جائے۔
موجودہ دور ایسے معلمین کاتقاضہ کرتاہے جو تحقیقی مزاج رکھتے ہوں۔جو اپنے اہداف اورطریقہ کار پر خود سوالیہ نشان لگانے کی ہمت رکھتے ہوں اورخود ہی ان کا حل تلاش کرنے کی کوشش کرتے ہوں۔معلم کاکام کتابوں میں لکھے اصولوں کی ہو بہو تقلید کرنا نہیں ہے۔بلکہ ان کو ماحول اورطلبا کے مزاج کے پیش نظر خود اپنے اصول مرتب کرنے چاہئیں۔اس کے لیے انہیں معلم کے رول کے ساتھ ساتھ ایک محقق کا رول کا بھی اداکرنا ہوگا۔بلکہ ایک حقیقی محقق ہی ایک حقیقی معلم ہوسکتا ہے۔معلم کوایسے مواقع تلاش کرنے ہوں گے جس کے ذریعہ وہ اپنی عملی تحقیقی مہارت کی نشونما کر سکے۔
تعلیم کے چار اہم ستون ہیں جو کہ یونیسکو کے دیلولار کمیٹی نے تجویز کیے ہیں۔اکتساب برائے علم،اکتساب برائے عمل،اجتماعی طور پر زندگی گزارنے کے لیے اکتساب اورتشخیص کے لیے اکتساب۔اس پر عمل کرنے کے لیے درکار ہنر وقت کی ضرورت ہے۔ یعنی تدریس کا مطلب و مقصد صرف اطلاعات کا ذہن میں محفوظ کر دینا ہی نہیں ہے بلکہ یہ ایک تاعمر چلنے والا سلسلہ ہے اس کو مختلف قسم کے تجربات کے ذریعے کارآمد سے کار آمد بنایا جاسکتا ہے۔اکتساب برائے علم سے مراد طلباء میں قوت متخیلہ،منطق،استدلال اورتجرباتی انداز سے سوچنے کی اہلیت پیدا کرنا ہے۔تعلیمی تجربات کو اس طرح پیش کرنا چاہئے جس سے طلباء میں یہ تمام اہلیتیں پیدا ہوسکیں۔اکتسا ب برائے عمل سے مراد جو کچھ طلباء کو تعلیمی تجربات کے ذریعہ علم دیا گیا ہے اس کا مناسب طریقہ سے اطلاق کرنے کا ہنر طلباء میں پیدا کرناہے۔یعنی اب تعلیم، مہارت سے استعداد کی طرف منتقل کی جا رہی ہے۔ معلم کو یہ دیکھنا ہے کہ کیسے مضمون کا علم طلباء کو اجتماعیت کی طرف رغبت دلا سکتا ہے۔
معلم کو ایک ساتھ کئی کردار ادا کرنے ہیں۔اس کا ایک کرداررہنما کابھی ہے۔موجودہ دور میں معلم سے مراد صرف اطلاعات پہونچانے والا آلہ نہیں ہے کیونکہ آج کے تکنیکی دور میں تمام اطلاعات ایک انگشت کی معمولی حرکت سے دستیاب ہوجاتی ہیں۔ معلم کوایک دوست، رہنما،فلاسفر،رول ماڈل جیسے رول نبھانے ہیں۔اس میں ایک اہم رول رہنما Guide))کا بھی ہے۔ آج کے دور میں طلباء نہ صرف دوران تدریس بلکہ زندگی کے دیگر شعبوں میں بھی مختلف مسائل کا سامنا کر رہے ہیں۔معلم ایک رہنما کے طور پر نہ صرف اکتسابی مسائل کا حل فراہم کرسکتا ہے بلکہ ذاتی زندگی میں بھی اگر طلباء کسی پریشانی کا شکار ہوتے ہیں توان کا مناسب حل فراہم کرسکتا ہے۔اس سلسلہ میں معلم خود طلبہ کے ذریعے تما م حالات کا تجزیہ کراتے ہوئے نتائج اخذ کرواتا ہے اور اس کی بنیاد پر مسائل سے نبرد آزما ہونے کی راہ بتاتا ہے۔ دور حاضر کے معلم کو حساس ہونا ہوگا اور طلبہ کے مسائل کو ذہن و دل سے سمجھنے میں مہارت بھی پیدا کرنی ہوگی۔
